SIR – There has rightly been praise (T&A, June 11) for the excellent Bollywood Carmen production that was shown live on television on BBC3.
It was indeed a spectacular show, and the surrounding area, as one website poster said, “looked immense”.
What particularly impressed about the surrounds was the wonderful and commanding backdrop of the Odeon building.
One has to hope that Bradford Council is being particularly proactive in this regard, that it will move heaven and earth to restore it to its former glory, and not just wait for others to come forward, then blaming everyone else when nothing happens.
As we could all see, it is a magnificent building greatly complementing the adjacent Alhambra, and Bradford deserves nothing less than its complete restoration. It simply looked superb.
