SIR – I don’t know how long Philip Davies has been an MP but it’s taken him a long time to find out that hospitals charge patients for the use of TV (T&A, June 6).
David Cameron is also wrong to tell Mr Davies that this practice started in 2001 under the last Labour Government.
I remember objecting to this practice when my partner at the time was admitted to Dewsbury and District Hospital in 1997.
Along with phone charges and car park charging, these policies are part and parcel of the privatisation of our National Health Service, which is being carried out by the Con/Dem Government.
