The Government wants to shut down either or both (and it’s my guess it’s the latter) National Media/Railway Museums to save two million pounds, while keeping lesser museums in both places open.
Surely it is these higher-profile museums that should be kept open. Or is it that now that their profile has grown over the years that the Government now sees that a national museum should be in the capital and that this is an underhand way to move them?
Next year shall we be seeing a grand reopening at Battersea power station financed with some suddenly-found spare cash, or sponsored by some conglomerate to get a tax break? Is the Government trying to steal our tourists?
