SIR – Re Mr Godfrey’s letter (T&A, May 9), about a pedestrian on the new £4 million bridge on Manchester Road.
We have a lovely red bridge and a fantastic £26 million water feature in the centre of the city. We could have had a £30 million pound busy, noisy music arena as they have in Leeds, and we wouldn’t want that.
