SIR – On reading your paper of late, it would appear that there is some debate as to the legacy of Mrs Thatcher.

I was always taught you can tell a person by the company they keep. Add to that the description of Nelson Mandela as a “terrorist” doesn’t say much about the lady and her judgement, let alone her legacy.

Perhaps Mr Townshend (T&A, April 17) should forget about George Galloway and pay more attention to the communities she blighted and the company she kept when trying to assess the lady’s legacy.
