SIR – Apparently, Bradford does not need a Council leader and a chief executive – I disagree.
One is an elected member of the Council and could have no qualifications whatsoever other than popularity, a big personality and ambition to lead.
The other is a highly-qualified practitioner that knows the law inside out and has studied extremely hard for his salary, which would not even raise an eyebrow in the private sector.
The responsibility this role carries is much much more than simply being an ambassador for our great city. It is a highly-skilled legal role worthy of the salary.
Have any of those people even met Tony Reeves, who is an absolute asset to this city? Lose him at your peril, Bradford! He would leave a bigger hole in our city centre than the one that exists already!
