SIR – What astonishing irony! Lord Heseltine, the arch Europhile, is now in charge of red tape! It takes a thief to catch a thief, I suppose.
One wonders why the man at the Town Hall should be any better than the man in Whitehall. Spend the money on VAT and business rate cuts is my advice.
