SIR – We are always being informed by the media that violent crime is on the decrease. I have always taken these statements with a pinch of salt up until now.
It appears that in the Commons there are 27 subsidised ‘watering holes’ and that in consequence some of the Right Honourable Gentlemen can get a bit over-boisterous on occasion.
Such an occasion occurred recently and by all accounts Tory and Labour aides were reportedly scrapping in lumps.
The result of this melee was that at least one of the Right Honourable Gentlemen was arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm. Totally shameful!
