SIR – Steve McGuiness, the Royal Mail delivery director for this area, stated (T&A, February 19) that “moving the mail operation from our Bingley, Shipley and Bradford West delivery offices will provide improved working conditions, secure employment and provide a more cost-effective operation”.

What was missing from his statement was any reference to improved customer service. No wonder, when we all know that this will be substantially worsened.

This appears to say much about the Royal Mail of 2013. Not surprising, therefore, that they continue to lose customers.
