SIR – I refer to your report (T&A, February 6) on only £20k saved by top management shake-up at City Hall. This is just a very small drop in the large ratepayer-funded bucket indeed!
This shake-up should have been started way back when it was very obvious to anybody in private business employment (and losing their jobs due to this economic downturn) that this was for the long haul.
From this very meagre saving it looks like those selected or volunteering to take nice redundancy packages will not be joining the line outside Town Hall’s voluntary-run soup kitchen!
