SIR – Would it be possible to put Messrs Hindle, Bird, Hall, Harding and many others into one of your offices to sort out their differences instead of using the readers’ letters page for their personal squabbles?

As a life-long Socialist, Mr Hindle, I have found it impossible to make dyed-in-the-wool Tories understand the principles of Socialism, far better to explain the basics as outlined by G B Shaw that our everyday life as a civilised society can only exist by socialising, this truism cannot be denied.

Even Marx admitted that socialism cannot exist in isolation, it must be embraced by all.

Unfortunately, so many dictators have used the word socialism to give an air of social justice and progress, such as Hitler, Stalin, Hoxha, Honecker and many others, so that because of these people, true socialism is a dirty word.

No matter what political party you support, the true rulers of us all are the bankers and big business, which is now becoming self-evident, but as usual you bigots of all shades would rather fight among yourselves than the true enemy, who will ultimately win.
