SIR – Can somebody at the Council please instigate the instruction to paint a yellow box on the whole junction at the top of Cavendish Street?
For the third time this week I have had to wait for two traffic light changes before I am able to cross the junction and turn right on to Skipton Road.
The ignorance of some drivers amazes me. They can see the junction is blocked, but still they come, and at times I am sure they jump the lights, and make things worse. It is not restricted to cars – it is buses and lorries alike. Why do people jump the lights to join the back of a queue? Perhaps a roundabout would fix the issue?
I know some drivers don’t know what a yellow box means, but at least we would be in with a chance.
I only drive a little car, but even I cannot get through sometimes. Are they so afraid of losing their space in the queue? Perhaps I should have a sign that says ‘It’s okay, I want the inside lane so please let me out’!
