SIR – Tremendous news that Yorkshire is to receive the 2014 Tour de France. Congratulations, therefore, to those who were instrumental in bringing it to the county.
Not only do we get to see this spectacle, but some of our most scenic routes will now get state-of-the-art road repairs.
It’s a shame they do not seem to be going on the moor road above Ilkley and the Cow and Calf – but maybe that is because of those annoying traffic-calming humps?
