SIR – On December 24, my husband and I were driving towards Queensbury, and at the lights at Queensbury our car broke down.

The silencer had become dislodged and we were unable to drive our car.

We had our hazard lights on. Lots of cars passed us except one, a black Porsche with a lovely young man inside. He jumped out and came and helped us.

I just want through your paper to say a big thank-you. He laid down on the floor in all the rain, dislodged the silencer then jumped back in his car and drove off.

What a lovely young man. A credit to his parents.

Once again, thank you.

Mrs P Hirst, Syke Lane, Lightcliffe
