SIR – Surely Sandy Lane residents, parents of Sandy Lane schoolchildren, etc, should have a say about the electrical shop’s shutters security shutters, which were denied planning permission by Bradford Council (T&A, December 14).
The only people who see them on a regular basis are Sandy Lane residents and parents – everyone else is driving straight through on their way to somewhere else.
As a resident myself, I would prefer to have a secure electrical business in the village with shutters with ‘protruding shutter boxes’ than no business at all.
