SIR – I write this letter in response to a Mr R G Jennings of Bingley (Letters, December 5).
He mentions a “cool wind of common sense” with regard to wanting to demolish the former Odeon picture house and make way for yet another car park.
Well, sir, I would like to respond by letting Mr Jennings know it would be much better to have it restored to its former self.
By this I mean film showings, dance hall and cafe. This is how most of those Bradford born and bred remember this so-called jerry-built building.
Surely there must be a jerry-style building in Bingley that needs pulling down for a replacement car park.
