SIR – I agree completely with the letter from Eric Mills (T&A, December 6) ‘Praise well deserved’.
In 2007, I had the honour of attending a presentation about the Listening For Life appeal given by the-then Mr Chris Raine, which was truly inspirational.
This was no mean feat, as the presentation was at a breakfast meeting of the Bradford Bronte Rotary Club at 7.30am, when most people are just thinking about waking up!
I have supported and followed the progress of the Ear Trust and the YCIS –Yorkshire Cochlear Implant Service – with great interest ever since.
I am sure that Professor Raine does not expect any recognition, as suggested by Eric Mills, but I totally agree he would be a truly worthy recipient.
