SIR – On BBC Sunday Politics, the four candidates standing for election as Police and Crime Commissioner for West Yorkshire each aired their reasons why the public should vote for them.
I was not impressed. What’s more – like thousands of others, no doubt – I had never seen or heard of them before.
So who should I vote for on November 15? Contravening the principles of democracy, I will probably, like the undecided gambler, close my eyes and stick a pin in the list of candidates and hope for the best.
