SIR – We arrived back at Leeds-Bradford Airport on Monday evening after a very comfortable flight from Faro and an excellent landing by the pilot in appalingly foggy conditions.

Unfortunately, the plane was given a parking slot which seemed to be about half a mile from the terminal buildings.

From there we were forced to trudge across the airfield, dragging our cases and belongings through the fog and the rain.

Once in the terminal, we were faced with another long journey up and down flights of stairs and along interminable corridors, until we finally reached passport control, before going down even more stairs to retrieve the rest of our baggage.

The problems for those in wheelchairs or those with difficulty walking were enormous, and really not acceptable in this day and age.

Is it beyond the bounds of possibility that Leeds/Bradford might be able to organise a little more modern and civilised method of getting passengers to and from the aircraft?

The occasional jet bridge walkway, enjoyed by other airports, would also be an enormous help.

Come on, Leeds-Bradford – get up to date please.
