Firefighters from 12 fire stations across the district rushed to Leeds-Bradford International Airport this evening after reports of an aircraft fire.
Smoke was coming from beneath a Jet2 Boeing 737 at the airfield when fire crews arrived at about 6.30pm.
All passengers were evacuated and a high-pressured fan was used to dispel the smoke and cool the landing gear.
No one was injured in the incident.
