SIR – With the erection of scaffolding on the Odeon building, it would be easier and cheaper to effect the required repairs to make the building safe.
As most people know, the building has been allowed to deteriorate by the dithering of various factions over the past decade. Due to the demise of one of the site’s developers, if the building is demolished we will be left with another black hole.
The city will become known as, the city of empty shops, black holes and fire-ravaged mills.
