SIR – So, after many years of co-operation between Yorkshire Forward, BCR and the Council, we have finally gone into the record books – as the worst city in the country; dangerous, ugly and boring, according to a Travelodge survey.
In the latest edition of Community Pride there is an important headline: “Your vote counts”. The text reads: “If you want to have your say in the way your district is run, use your vote in the next election.”
This will be on May 6, and although only 30 of the 90 seats will change hands, now is the time to ask your councillors their views on subjects such as the Odeon, The Mirror Pool, the Forster Square hole, etc and vote accordingly. Only 40 per cent voted in the last election, and who knows, that could be one reason why we are bottom of the list in this recent survey, as well as, sadly, many others.
It is very little good grumbling unless you are prepared to vote, so this time around let councillors know in no uncertain terms what we all think of their disastrous management of our city.
