SIR – Only in Bradford would the Council, against the wishes of the people who pay their wages, vote to demolish the Odeon, the largest cinema of its type in the North, then con UNESCO into believing that our city is forward-thinking enough to be a City of Film.

And, to compound their ineptitude and lack of vision, then encourage people to visit an unlettable property to see the film Billy Liar. Although, perhaps, that’s the most appropriate comment regarding our Council.
