Whither Nora Batty
SIR - This line from Last Of The Summer Wine’s skiving policeman when reflecting on their jobs seems to reflect perfectly the attitude to Bradford having a busy city centre: The job is perfect but spoiled by people! (T&A, September 17).
We don’t want our bobbies to be having to deal with the likes of Thora Hird and Nora Batty!
We must treat them with the utmost respect and shield them from confrontation.
