SIR - Bradford One have expressed their concern that their plan for the Odeon building has been rejected by Bradford Council (T&A, Aug 9).

However, I have to say that, in my view, the bid from Bradford Live - the only one now on the table - was the one that seemed the most viable, and would offer the most to our city in terms of a much- needed mid-range concert venue, and very welcome new footfall.

Having said that, there are surely some questions to be asked about the Bradford One bid. It seems that it received a grant of £90K (and possibly a second one), and one therefore wonders where that money has gone?

Further, if there is any residue, what will happen to that? I’m sure that Bradford Live would welcome any contribution! I could never understand how only one group could receive a grant that was not available to all.

Apart from answers to these questions, I now fervently hope that the Bradford Live bid can go from strength to strength and provide us with the sort of venue that our city needs to assist with its ongoing regeneration.
