SIR – What a pleasure it is to see the Westfield shopping development taking shape before our eyes in the city centre. Thank goodness someone has at last got a grip on this scheme and got it under way.

I think the people of Bradford owe a debt of gratitude to Councillor David Green, who is the only political leader to have succeeded where others have failed miserably to get this venture started.

I note from your article that other projects are starting to bear fruit and that Bradford seems to be on the up again. Perhaps Bradford will start to thrive once it all comes together.

I look forward to seeing the Odeon project moving in the not too distant future and will follow developments with interest. Centenary Square and the City Park and its pool look fabulous, so well done to David Green and his team. Politicians always seem to take the blame; so credit where it is due.
