POLICE are appealing for information about an attack on a man outside a pub.

The 24-year-old victim was assaulted by two men outside the Red Lion pub in Market Street, Heckmondwike, on Friday, December 18, at around 9.25pm.

Details of last month's attack were released by police today.

The victim received facial injuries which were treated in hospital.

Both men were white.

The first was around 5ft 10, around 27-years-old, with brown hair tied up with elastic bands which looked like dreadlocks.

The second man was between 25 and 27, stocky build, and had dark short hair.

Detective Constable Annette Lane of Kirklees CID said: "The incident occurred on a busy Friday night where I am certain that people who may have been at the public house may have heard or seen something.

"I would ask that anyone who was there to think back to if they saw something and ask that they come forward with any information. Enquiries are ongoing."
