A WOMAN was threatened with a screwdriver before robbers stole a car and cash from a house in Gomersal.

The incident occurred around 6pm yesterday when a suspect entered the property on Thoresby Drive and confronted the 40 year-old occupant.

Three other suspects then entered the property, taking the keys to a black Volkswagen Polo, with the registration FV06 OBW, which was subsequently stolen from the driveway.

They also made off with a large amount of cash and personal items within a black handbag.

All four suspects are believed to have made off in the vehicle.

The first suspect is described as a white male, aged approximately 19 years, 5"8" tall, of slim-build, with short, shaggy, brown dark hair.

He was wearing a dark-coloured zipped hooded jacket with the hood up, and gloves.

The second suspect is described as an Asian male aged approximately 30 years, around 5"9" tall, of medium-build.

He had dark curly hair which looked long, and was possibly pulled back in to a ponytail.

He had a small hooped earring in his right ear, and was wearing a plain hooded jacket with the hood up, which was tightly zipped around his face and mouth.

The third suspect is described as an Asian male, aged between 20 and 22 years, approximately 5"8" tall, of slim-build, with prominent thick dark eyebrows.

He was wearing a turquoise coloured zipped jacket with a white stripe down the arm.

Detective Constable Richard Brooke, of the Kirklees Robbery Team, said: "This incident has occurred in the early evening while the area will still have been relatively busy with people, although it was dark I am certain that someone will have seen the suspects prior to the incident, or leaving the scene in the black VW Polo.

"I would appeal to anyone who was in the area around 6pm, and may have seen anyone matching the suspect’s description to come forward.

"Equally, if anyone saw the vehicle with four occupants after the incident, I would ask that they speak to police.

"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Kirklees CID via 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
