POLICE are warning residents to be vigilant after an elderly Cleckheaton resident was conned by men offering to repair her roof.
Three suspects called at the home of the 84-year-old woman in Mount Gardens, at 9.30am on Wednesday, October 21.
One said her roof needed repairing and quoted a price. When she said she did not have the money, the cruel conmen said they would take her to the bank. The victim declined, but paid them a deposit. The men left in a white van and did not return.
The villains were all white men. One was in his mid 30s, around 5t 8ins tall, slim, with dark, curly hair. He was wearing dark blue overalls.The second man was in his 20s, with blond hair. He was slightly shorter, but larger than the first suspect. He was wearing white overalls. The third suspect was older than the other two.
