FIREFIGHTERS helped a mum get to her sleeping boy who was trapped in his bedroom when a door handle broke.
The three-year-old did not get to meet his rescuers as he remained fast asleep as a fire crew used tools to open the door at his house in Ashbourne Drive, Cleckheaton.
His mum and aunt had considered asking someone to kick the door down but called the fire brigade instead.
Firefighter Jack Furbisher, of Cleckheaton fire station, removed the door mechanism so quietly that the boy remained oblivious to the drama this afternoon.
