A 48-YEAR-OLD man has pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a young woman on the canal towpath at Brighouse.
Darren Halford, who is remanded in custody in Leeds Prison, will be sentenced on October 26.
He pleaded guilty on a video link to Bradford Crown Court today.
Prosecutor Gerald Hendron told the court the Crown's case was that Halford lay in wait for a victim and then pounced from behind on September 1.
His victim went to the ground but was not seriously hurt.
Judge Peter Benson adjourned the case for a probation report, warning Halford, of Finkil Street, Brighouse, that all sentencing options were open, including custody.
