POLICE are hunting two men who tried to rob a slaughterhouse leading to a scuffle with staff.
The pair burst into a mobile office at the abattoir in Headlands Road in Liversedge.
They walked through reception into a back office, pulled a female member of staff sitting on a chair with castors away from her desk and then reached under the desk and took a case containing cash.
Another female member of staff challenged them as they tried to leave the building. It ended in a struggle during which the member of staff managed to grab the case from the suspects who then fled empty handed on to Headlands Road towards the A62.
No one was injured in the incident which took place at 1.30pm last Friday.
The suspects have been described as white, in their early 20s, of average height with one wearing a balaclava mask and grey tracksuit bottoms, the other a black baseball cap and a black tracksuit.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Kirklees CID via 101.
