POLICE are investigating an attempted ram raid at a convenience store in Gomersal.

A car was driven into metal shutters of the shop in Oxford Road at 4am yesterday but they held firm.

Detective Inspector Mark Truelove, of Kirklees District CID, said: “Police were called to a report that a car had been driven into the shutters of a convenience store in an attempt to gain entry.

“Entry was not gained and the vehicle was driven away. Enquiries are ongoing.”
