MORE money has been made available for work with troubled families in the Kirklees Council area.

The authority works with families that have complex needs, such as poor school attendance, involvement in crime or where adults are out of work, using funding from the government’s Troubled Families grant and more cash has now been made available.

So far it has assisted 1115 families and has had positive results, which has resulted in the council being asked to become involved in an expanded version of the programme.
