TIME to take part in a consultation on the future of open space across Kirklees is running out, with a questionnaire closing early next month.

Kirklees Council has commissioned an assessment to understand the current use and demand for open spaces across the area.

The aim is to develop and improve leisure and recreational opportunities.

The assessment includes an audit of parks and public gardens, natural and semi-natural green spaces such as woodlands and scrubland, green corridors such as disused railways, cycleways and bridleways, outdoor sports facilities, children’s play areas, amenity green space within housing developments, civic spaces, allotments, cemeteries and churchyards.

Residents can have their say on the matter by visiting the website at kirklees.gov.uk.

They can do so until January 9 when the assessment closes.
