OLYMPIC heroes the Brownlee brothers will open the doors to Guiseley's new Aldi this week with prizes for the first 100 customers.

Alistair and Jonny Brownlee will be handing out golden envelopes to customers in the queue when the store opens its doors for the first time on Thursday morning.

Each envelope will contain a prize, and lucky customers will be in with the chance of winning a 48 inch TV, Garmin Sat Navs, Dashcams, DAB Radios and bags of shopping worth up to £30.

The new store, on Bradford Road, will open at 8am on Thursday, February 2. The store, which has 90 parking spaces, has created 17 new jobs and is still recruiting for store assistants.Guiseley Juniors Girls FC will be at the opening following a kit sponsorship deal.

Aldi is offering opening week 'Specialbuys' including Nutri Power Blenders for £14.99, Notebooks for £39.99, Panini Presses for £2.99, and Teppanyaki Grills for £3.99.

Store manager Daljit Sandal said: "We’re thrilled the Brownlee Brothers will be coming along to the store opening, and we hope customers enjoy meeting them throughout the morning.

"We are confident that everyone will enjoy the Golden Ticket event along with the great Specialbuy offers available in store."

Alistair Brownlee said: "We’re delighted to be opening Aldi’s new Guiseley store and we’re looking forward to meeting the staff, customers and the team from Guiseley Juniors Girls FC.

"Being Olympic athletes, we know how important it is to have access to fresh, high quality, healthy produce and the range on offer at Aldi will allow local customers just that."

Jonny Brownlee, added: "Being Yorkshire men ourselves, it’s great to know that the community will have more access to great value produce and will benefit from the jobs created by the new Aldi store."

The new shop will be open from 8am to 10pm from Monday to Saturday, and from 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
