PUPILS at a Bradford primary school were today rewarded for their hard work in preparation for upcoming exams with a civic reception at City Hall.
The Deputy Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Alun Griffiths, welcomed pupils of Green Lane Primary School and presented them with certificates for their hard work.
The pupils attended weekend booster classes in maths, English and science to help them prepare for their SATs exams in May, and were joined by their mothers who also took classes in cyber-bullying and first aid.
The classes were organised by Neesie, a volunteer group for single mothers.
Cllr Griffiths, said: “It is really pleasing that so many pupils were keen to put in this extra effort in their own leisure time to prepare themselves in advance of the exams.”
Kevin Holland, head teacher at Green Lane, said; “We were delighted that the pupils were so keen to come in and do the boosters and are hoping that their efforts will pay dividends in May.”
