THE winner of the 2016 Telegraph & Argus Happy Tots competition has been presented with her prizes.

Maicey Rhodes, aged three, of Greengates, received a canvas print of the winning photo, a trophy, and £500 of vouchers to spend in the Kirkgate Shopping Centre.

Accompanied by her mother, Jade, 21, she was presented with the awards by the manager of Kirkgate, Catherine Riley.

Since Maicey was announced as the winner last month, Miss Rhodes said her daughter had been excitedly picking out the toys she would like to get with the shopping vouchers,

"It's been great; she has had her eye on a big red kitchen, some mermaids and a Barbie doll," she said.

"We had a lot of support from our family, a lot of them voted for Maicey."

The Happy Tots competition was run in partnership with the Kirkgate shopping centre.

Mrs Riley said: "We love doing the competition, it's important to us because everyone has a chance of winning, and everyone is a winner really because they get the opportunity to have their pictures in the paper.

"This year's winner, Maicey, is beautiful, and she was really great with the camera to say she is only three-years-old, and I think when she turns four we might be seeing her again in the model search!"
