SCAFFOLDING is being removed around the former Bradford Odeon's distinctive domes now they have been re-coppered.
Lee Craven, the businessman behind the plans to redevelop the vacant landmark, said this part of the scaffolding was being rented by Bradford Council, the owners of the building, so was now being taken down.
He said his Bradford Live team were still working on securing a commercial operator for the live venue as well as re-applying for Heritage Lottery funding later this year.
Bradford Council leader David Green said they remained supportive of Bradford Live's plans.
Although he once again said that if these plans were not successful, they would have to look at other options for the building - including demolition.
He said if by the end of the year no funding had been secured, they would have to have these "difficult discussions".
Councillor Simon Cooke, leader of the opposition group, said he wouldn't want to see Bradford Live held to an arbitrary deadline, and would rather the council talked to Mr Craven to see when he would expect to have made headway.
