Sutton-in-Craven Parish Council has objected to a proposal to reduce a bus service which runs through South Craven.
North Yorkshire County Council is proposing to reduce the frequency of service 78A to approximately every two hours and the service, which starts in Skipton, would no longer go to Keighley.
To supplement the new proposal, the county council is considering an extension of the existing South Craven Village Bus, provided by the Little Red Bus, which offers a door-to-door on-demand service.
The cost of continuing to provide the current level of service would be £194,864 per year more than for the proposed replacement timetable and on-demand service.
Sutton Parish Council has objected on the grounds that many villagers do their shopping in Keighley and the suggested timetable proposal would not accommodate passenger needs.
The three-week public consultation ends on Monday, February 27. To comment, email passenger.transport @northyorks.gov.uk.
