A DAUGHTER is paying a heartfelt tribute to the hospice which cared for her late mum.

Lauren Parkinson is organising an evening of food, music and dancing in memory of her mother Sara – who died from cancer three years ago – and to raise money for Manorlands at Oxenhope.

The Great Gatsby for a Great Cause event is being held at the Rendezvous Hotel, Skipton, on August 18.

"My mum was only 44 when she passed away and my son just a baby," said Lauren.

"I want to make this event a really special occasion and am hoping it will be a sell-out!

"I encourage everyone to get some friends together and support our local hospice – it does an amazing job."

There will be a three-course meal, live music from a band and singer Niamh and a raffle, with prizes donated by businesses.

Guests are encouraged to dress in evening attire – 1920s-style is optional.

Armstrong Luty Solicitors are helping to meet the cost of the event, and other businesses are being invited to give support.

Manorlands community fundraiser, Molly Ralphson, said: "Lauren is working really hard to make this a night to remember and it's shaping up to be a fantastic event.

"We rely heavily on support from our local community to fundraise the huge amount we need to continue our services.

"I really hope people will support Lauren by buying tickets and enjoying the event!"
