TWO men are delighted to have shed a total of 11 stones.

Allan Clark and Chris Lund have received 'Greatest Loser' awards from Slimming World in recognition of their achievements.

After just over a year with the organisation's Oakworth group, Allan has reached his target of shedding six stones.

He now weighs in at under 16 stones.

"At times it has been hard but overall it's been a very enjoyable experience," he said.

"I have now promised myself a bicycle for my 67th birthday next month.

"The last time I was my current weight was 50 years ago, which was when I last rode a bike!"

He pays tribute to fellow group members and consultant Andrea Astin.

"I'm so happy to be awarded the Greatest Loser honour," said Allan.

"I would like to thank Andrea and the members for all their advice, encouragement and support during the last 13 months or so.

"None of this would have been possible without that support."

Chris has been with the Haworth group for about six months, and has lost five stones. He thanks colleagues for their backing.

"He is a very quiet and unassuming gentleman who is on his journey with his wife Cheryl – who has herself lost one-and-a-half stones," said Andrea.

"I am so proud of all my members and in particular these two gentlemen, who are totally phenomenal.

"Slimming World welcomes men and women and young members over 11 years old. It is the best feeling in the world to see members lose their weight and gain confidence."

The Oakworth group meets at Holden Hall at 5pm and 7pm on Wednesdays and the Haworth sessions are at the West Lane Baptist Church at 5pm and 7pm on Thursdays.
