A POPULAR riverside walk will be the focus of a clean-up.

The path, off Ebor Lane, Haworth, a nature area and part of the Railway Children Walk, will be targeted on Saturday, April 22. Litter will be blitzed and vegetation cut back during the operation, starting at 2.30pm.

Residents met there and agreed to hold the clean-up following other work to improve the area.

Volunteers from Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team used ropes to negotiate steep banking to clear an area by Bridgehouse Beck, next to Ebor Mill. “The spot had been blighted by fly-tipping and could not be safely accessed by volunteers or staff,” said Liz Parker, from the Keighley area co-ordinator’s office.

To deter further tipping, Bradford Council parks and landscapes staff have used large tree trunks to block vehicular access.
