A LANDMARK clock has disappeared as demolition work continues on Keighley’s former college building.

The timepiece, which looked out across Town Hall Square, has vanished into a growing mound of rubble. The whole section of the four-storey building fronting onto North Street (pictured) has now been bulldozed.

Teams from contractor D Hughes will continue demolishing the remainder of the complex this weekend.

Road closures are due to be in force again on Sunday and on March 19 and 26. North Street will be shut to traffic from the roundabout at its junction with High Street to its junction with Alice Street. Lord Street, the top end of Cavendish Street and parts of Russell Street, Devonshire Street and Albert Street will also be sealed off.
