PEOPLE interested in reviving a weekend of public entertainment in Haworth have been invited to attend a meeting in the village next month.

Members of the Friends of Haworth Park are investigating whether it would be possible to resume staging the Haworth 1960s Weekend. The annual event has not taken place for several years.

A spokesman for the friends group said: "It was decided that due to popular demand, we could try and resurrect the very popular 1960s weekend.

"It is too late to organise anything for this year so it’s all out for 2016.

"There is to be a meeting on Tuesday, September 8, to form a sub committee to work out a programme.

"We already have some volunteers, but we need more if we are to make it a success."

The meeting will take place at 7.30pm in Parkside Social Club, Butt Lane.
