REAL ale campaigners have welcomed an announcement that plans to turn a pub into a convenience store have been scrapped.
Supermarket giant Tesco confirmed last week that it was abandoning its scheme to convert the Royal Oak (pictured), in Mill Hey, Haworth, into a Tesco Express.
A pair of applications submitted by Tesco, one to install a cash machine in the property and another to make further alterations to the building, had both been rejected by Bradford Council.
