A CHILDREN’S nursery that was last month told it was “inadequate” because of poor safeguarding procedures has taken “prompt and effective action” to improve.

In September, Wilsden Village Nursery was told by schools governing body Ofsted that children were “not always dependably safeguarded” and it was slow to respond to child safety concerns. The nursery, based at the village hall, was given notice to improve.

Late last month inspectors returned and found that work had been done to fix the issues raised in the report.

Their latest update said: “You have developed an action plan to address the issues and welcomed the support of a representative from the local authority. This enabled you to effectively address the required improvement.”
