A GROUP of 17 cyclists who are mostly from the Keighley area will cycle 170 miles this weekend to help a cancer research charity.

The riders will travel from Morecambe to Bridlington, and will set off at 9am on Saturday, aiming to complete their challenge on the east coast the following day. Proceeds will go to Cancer Research UK.

Darren Wilson, who owns KAP Motorsport, in Beecher Street, Keighley, is one of the cyclists taking part. “Everyone knows someone who has been affected by cancer in some way,” he said.

“It’s going to be a gruelling ride, but it’s for an extremely worthwhile cause.

“There will be a few tough hills on the route, because we wanted it to be a challenge. We’ll be stopping off in Wetherby on the way, probably to recharge our batteries!”

People wanting to support the cyclists can do so online via justgiving.com/Jonbeau21/ They can also pick up sponsorship forms at KAP Motorsport or call 01535 610840 for further details.
