A 68-YEAR-OLD man has suffered serious injuries when he was run over by his car.
The man had walked behind his parked vehicle in Margerison Crescent, Ilkley, when it rolled back and crushed him against another parked car.
Police said a delivery driver stopped to assist the man by moving the vehicle, and today appealed for witnesses to the incident, which took place shortly after midday last Friday.
The victim, who police have not named, is being treated at Leeds General Infirmary.
PC Benjamin Pearson, of the Safer Roads and Neighbourhoods Team (West), said: "This appears to be an accident and we are not searching for anyone in connection with the incident.
"We would however urge the delivery driver who stopped to help to come forward, as they may hold vital information about the circumstances of what took place and may not have realised the severity of the gentleman's injuries.
"I would also appeal for any other witnesses who were in the street or surrounding area at the time to come forward."
Anyone with information should contact PC Pearson via 101.
