Gita Williams, who was found dead in a stream in Ilkley
POLICE have confirmed that the body found in Ilkley yesterday was that of missing woman Gita Williams.
The 45-year-old was found in a stream close to Parish Ghyll Drive at about 12.30pm.
There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
A guinea pig Gita was believed to have taken with her when she disappeared was found dead nearby her body.
Gita had last been seen at her home in Ilkley at about 5.30pm last Saturday.
Police thanked the media and the public for their help with the appeal.
